CONNECTIONS /

Manchester is in the geographical centre of Britain and is well connected by air, road, and rail.

Manchester International Airport, the third largest in the UK, connects directly to 215 destinations across five continents. The airport is continuing its expansion and has the potential to increase passenger numbers to approximately 42 million by 2015.

Manchester’s road and rail links to the rest of the UK are equally efficient. The city has two mainline railways stations, Piccadilly and Victoria, which both serve the national rail network. The high speed hourly rail link from Piccadilly to London Euston currently takes two hours and six minutes.

Over 25% of the UK’s motorway network runs through the Manchester area, placing it within two hours’ drive time of approximately 60% of the UK population.
